After over two decades of shaping and leading the premier service-learning and community engagement (SLCE) organization in higher education in California, Dr. Elaine Ikeda will be stepping down from her position as Executive Director on April 30, 2025.

LEAD California’s Executive Director Dr. Elaine K. Ikeda was selected as the winner of the 2024 International Association for Research on Service-Learning and Community Engagement’s (IARSLCE) Distinguished Career Award.
2024 RICHARD E. CONE AWARD FOR EMERGING LEADERS RECIPIENT
LEAD California has selected Dr. Kathleen (Kat) Cruz Gutierrez as the recipient of the LEAD California 2024 Richard E. Cone Award for Emerging Leaders in Community Engagement. The Richard E. Cone Award recognizes an exemplary early-career individual who is an emerging leader in the field of community engagement, whose work has had a positive impact on campus and in the community, and who is guided by the best practices of community-campus partnerships.
